Dr. Sonya Okoli is a former College Dean who traded-in a plush velvety golden robe to pursue her passion for Social Justice, Politics and Education. As the host of her very own radio show, “The Midday with Dr. Sonya”, she covers weekly entertainment on Current Affairs, Celebrity Gossip and Pop Culture.
It is no secret that she has become one of the most highly sought after On-Air Socio-Political Analyst in the game. With commentary involving the influence of both Social and Political factors, she's landed features on some of the nation’s top news broadcasts: RT America, WSBC and PBS. In addition to Contributor segments on popular radio stations like V103 Atlanta, WAOK News Talk, and The Light 93.3 Raleigh. You can also find her as an occasional Columnist featured in the Atlanta Journal & Constitution and HERS Magazine.
In addition to the media, Sonya wears the hats of Author "Parenting for College", Adjunct Professor at Beulah Heights University and Instructor with Morehouse College's Elite High School Bridge Program (SMASH) where high achieving males learn how to "competitively" enter STEM-related Institutions. Beyond a decade of teaching and research in areas of Urban Schools, Educational Policy, Community Partnerships, and Minority Student Achievement Disparities; She is the Managing Partner of Colorfully Educated LLC. A boutique consulting firm helping families get strategic about college and debt-free degrees.
On top of all of her many accomplishments, Sonya is most proud of the title wife to Dr. Ogechukwu Okoli a Decatur area Physical Therapist, Mother of Adaora Kathryn (8), Amara Rose (6) and Arinzechukwu William (1) and Soror to the members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
